Weebly Week2: Workshop

In this lesson, I learnt how to use a website which generates self driven content on to a website. The website gave you several templates which you could use as a base.
>> I really enjoy these sorts of activities as it enables you to challenge yourself t6o create something which you and most importantly others would find enjoyable to read and appealing to use and look at.
>> Once I got to know the setup of the website I found it easy adjusting the page to how I wanted it to look. Although I was fussy in the way which I chose the layouts as ideally I wanted something to connect with the theme of my flashmob.

>> I tried a minimalist approach to the website, giving it a contemporary feel. Although I was going to stick to a monochrome theme with the imagery but when I tried injecting some colour to the picture on the front page it really brings out the other elements.

*The website itself is still in need of completion but the majority of the pages are done and gives an insight in to the event and myself, as well as a page for those which perhaps aren't familiar with what FLASHMOBS entail.

Sunday

Word of mouth no more...

So why be
hush hush about the event?

More times than not, the event turns out to be a bigger success when planned last minute than if its been jotted in an organiser for months. Now with a younger generation becoming more lively and free willed, the secret event targeted to them usually
entails a booze infested hideout in the heart of London. Although there are many options to include other generations such as art auctions, pop-up restaurants - a little more subdued but equally as enjoyable.

Examples of a Secret Event...
  • Raves/Parties
  • Silent events (silent disco's etc)
  • Art Auction
  • Mass Social Experiments
  • Pop-Up resturants
  • Meetings for an effect/reaction (dance, pillow fights, underwear day, freeze of action etc)

Giant Cocktail Parties and Pop-Up Restaurants!

It's always nice to have an after work drink to wind down to the weekend, but imagine a mass of people meeting for a specially organised drink up! On the social side of opinions, what an event to meet new people but on the negative front of things, how to handle handle hundreds of 'gone' people... that would be an interesting one for the Police!

As well as the sociable drinking events, culinary events are also a big hit in European countries. 'Open Houses' are used to entice people in for in most instances a 3 Coursed meal! They pay for the luxury of being wined and dined within the constraints of a nice family/ contemporary environment.

: An article from The Times to show what the new fad is really like as well as how its caught on from boarder to boarder of many countries.

Secret and operating at the edges of legality, pop-up restaurants are one of the hottest foodie trends in the recession. There are intimate eateries in people's homes and at secret locations across the city — Come Dine With Me meets Location, Location, Location - http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/restaurants/article-23711772-pop-up-as-a-chef-at-home.do
